1st Chestnut: Arrival [Action/Voice]

Action/Voice

[People who happen to be making use of the Hot Springs might take note that there's a stranger in their midst. A short, bald man with six little dots on his forehead is laying down and sleeping on one of the deck-chairs near the edge of the tub. He's dressed, at least, but that doesn't change the fact that he's just there, dozing away with a journal for a pillow. Occasionally he lets out a little sigh of contentment, mumbling to himself in his sleep and seemingly oblivious to the world around him.

After a while, he does wake up though, and looks around, completely lost. In his flailing he notices the journal he's been laying on and grabs it up.]

Huh? What...? Well how the heck did I end up in a hot spring? And...what's with this thing? Oh man I hope that blinking light doesn't mean it's gonna explode or something. That'd be just my luck...

[There's the sound of random buttons being pressed and the picture flickers a few times before Krillin realizes that the blinking light means that it is, in fact, recording. He sounds immediately apologetic, and just starts speaking normally, if somewhat formally.]

Uh...sorry about that. My name's Krillin and ah-hehehe I don't know who's Capsulepad this is, but I found it and I wanna return it. The book model is really cool, I didn't even know they made them, but I'm not a thief. If you can hear this, then let me know where you are and I'll return it right away. Only, I guess it'd be great if you could give me some directions too.

[Later, after he's finally departed and begun to poke around his new surroundings, Krillin makes a beeline for town, whizzing along through the chilly air and cursing his luck. It's cold, and his clothes are freaking gone, and he of course missed the teleporter. Once he finds and swipes some clothes, he'll start poking his head around trying to find out where he can get some food and more information. So, expect him to turn up in the Item Shop, Bakery, and Welcome Center.]

[OOC: Please feel free to break time on the action portions of the thread! It's more fun that way.]

[Wait, did he just call her miss?]

The name's Karis, and I must congratulate you, you're the sixth person to know I was a girl straight away when it isn't so painfully obvious. [She couldn't count how many times her fellow crew members called her a guy.]

Ah, really? [She scratched her chin, appearing as though she was thinking for a moment.]

Huh. If that's the case, then my fellow crew members are kinda bad at gender identification then. [Since, well, a majority of them thought she was a guy for the longest time until she corrected them.]

That's actually not the case where I'm from. A lot of girls have very long hair. [She paused for a moment, a thought occurring to her.]

Well, at least from the planet I'm from, it's a standard among us Alnorian's to have longer hair. [That's what she believes at least. It doesn't help that she's only seen other people of her race with long hair.]

Haha, you're just as much of an alien to me as I am to you! [She couldn't help but smile at this.]

But yeah, I'm from a planet called Alnora. I'm guessing you're from Earth?

Really? What were they like? [Despite of all the traveling she did, Karis didn't go to many planets, nor had the time to explore them, so other people describing their adventures were always a bit interesting.]

[She listened to this, until he got to the part where he mentioned Frieza.]

Wait, back this ship up! [And it was here she had a goofy grin on her face.] There was a guy named Frieza? [Here it comes...]

I guess since he was a bad guy, he must not of been pretty chill huh? [Great, now she's trying her best not to laugh like a lunatic, she's just snickering at this point.]

[Clearly the pun went over his head. Way to go Karis.]

You're not familiar with ice puns, are you? [She looked a little disappointed.]

Frieza. Freeze. Chill. Catch my drift?

[She's not going to try to explain further.]

I hope so, that's comedy gold right there. At least I hope it is.

[This is the very reason why she's not a comedian.]

Well, that's good I guess. [She wasn't sure what he exactly defined as a "bad guy" but she'll roll with it.]

I'm glad that this Frieza guy won't be going around... Doing whatever it was that earned him being called a bad guy. [She shrugged, completely unaware of what Frieza actually did other than kill people.]

Oh, sorry! Um... Here, I'll send you something for you to read that will explain things better than I can.

[She'll promptly link him the guide that Raine made.]

It'll really help you understand what's going on around here.

Ah, only a few days... [She was glad that she could actually keep track of time. But that's only because she actually had something to go off of.]

Most of it? [She was a bit unsure about the experiments that were conducted on Luceti's inhabitants, but she wasn't going to dismiss it.]

The experiments that the Malnosso do on us I'm iffy on. I'm not exactly sure how well someone's condition is after they've been nabbed. I'm used to hearing about a lot of people dying when a group of people decide they want to conduct some sort of experiment. And it's not anything like a social experiment either, it's more like scientists with their lab rats.

[She pauses for a moment.] The again, the low survival rate applies, so far, to where I'm from. Here? I'm not so certain, but I haven't heard anyone dying from the Malnosso's experiments, yet.
