[The last few days had been rough. And Trunks needed to get where he could stop thinking about what had happened on his mission with Vegeta, which meant getting out of their house and around other people. A day out and it dawned on him he hadn't eaten in a few days; the thought of it made his stomach turn. The thought of eating familiar cooking made it worse.

He remembered in the guide he'd read there was a restaurant somewhere, and a few misguided hours later stepped through the doors.]

[Krillin's sitting down in the restaurant when Trunks walks in, chowing down on something. Not quite like Goku, but definitely nomming a whole lot. Civilly, of course, actually using utensils.]

[He almost walks right past the monk but stops. Wait he knows that gleam of baldness, wha-- He almost can't help the smile, something familiar that isn't his family hey!]

Krillin?

[The familiar voice alone is enough to get Krillin's attention. He looks up and grins.]

Oh hey, Trunks!

Uh--

[Yeah he's just gonna take this seat across from Krillin, try to look nonchalant about it yeah. Wait a second]

When'd you get here?

Uh, about a month ago. Don't you remember? We talked.

[You...told him about 18...]

No, I'd definitely remember knowing you're here--

[Oh. oh he sees what's going on. He runs a hand down his face]

You met the other me. The me from your future timeline.

Oh. Wait.

[Krillin stops for a sec, looking Trunks over.]

Hey! Yeah! You do look a little different than he does! I guess that means you're the Trunks from the future with the androids?

It's a little confusing with both of us here. [Though he hasn't heard from his other self in a little while now...] But jeez, a month? I'm sorry, I didn't realize you'd gotten here..

Yeah, it's okay. I've been kinda trying to keep my head down, and I guess I didn't sense your energy because of him.

[Shrug.]

How long've you been stuck here?

About a month and a half. Haven't had any trouble, have you?

Just whatever happened around Valentine's Day. And Android 17 being...well...Android 17.

[The way he says it though, it's like no big deal.]

[Hi Krillin guess who'd been blissfully unaware this entire time to 17's existence here, THIS GUY. Internal screaming intensifies.]

[Hi Trunks...guess who was unaware of that?]

Yeah, I'm-- I'm fine.

[Pinches the bridge of his nose, no he's really not fine but not thinking about it right now]

At least it hasn't been anything else... [And you seem closer to his time than anyone else from home]

[Krillin shrugs, looking at Trunks seriously for a moment. He knows you better than that, buddy.]

Yeah, there is that. Believe me, I'm really glad we're not having to fight anyone this time. And there's decent food, too.

And, I already talked to Seventeen. He's not going to start any trouble.

... Well good.

But who told you we weren't fighting anyone? Or-- Did someone not give you a guide?

I know about the Third Party, if that's what you mean.

[He shakes his head.]

Your dad told me. Dropped me in a simulation and removed my ability to manipulate ki. [The jerk, didn't even tell him.]

But those guys aren't like the Androids, or Cell, or even Frieza. At least, not from what I saw.

[Somehow he is not surprised Vegeta did that. At all.]

No, they're nothing like anything from our world.

[Wait.]

Who's Cell?

No, they're a lot weaker, by all accounts...

[A pause, and Krillin groans.]

You don't remember him? Guess...that means you're from before my time.

[Sighing, he puts down his fork.]

He was a genetic experiment of that jerk, Dr. Gero. Some sort of super...warrior. He's the strongest thing I've ever seen, but Gohan managed to take him down. That's the short version anyway. The long version, well...I think maybe you'll find out at home. I'm not sure how much it's okay to tell you about stuff like that. But suffice to say, he's bad news.

[Oh good, gooooood. That's just awesome. Great. He can't wait to finish the fight here and go back to that. Exactly what he wanted to hear.]

But you said Gohan defeated him, right? Then-- it'll be okay. Father had only told me the androids were eventually our allies. [And is still refusing to believe that thanks] He never mentioned anything about Cell.

I'm not sure I should have either, but yeah, everything turns out just fine.

[Krillin nods once, confidently.]

And yeah, you shoulda seen Gohan go. He sent that guy packing, no problem.

[Except...not, but that's not important.]

Also, yeah, the androids become our allies after that. Heh...apparently in my future...I end up marrying 18. Which...is a little weird to hear myself say. But that's what everyone's told me.

I think it's okay to tell some things. [Hey he told you guys about the androids in the first place so you wouldn't die, right?]

Yeah. Apparently. I mean, I can hardly believe it myself, honestly...

It sounds... a little more than unreal. But right up our alley, I guess.

[Really everything about their timeline screams "unreal" and Trunks smiles a little at that.]

I guess I will see Gohan finish him off if I ever get out of here.
